TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS & DESIGN

Mechanical Operation

The valve stem moves linearly alongside the gate plate. Using high-precision trapezoidal threads, the nut at the top of the Hanno Valve assembly converts rotational torque into powerful linear thrust.

Gate Plate Engineering

The gate moves perpendicular to the fluid direction. Note that these valves are designed to be fully opened or fully closed; they are not intended for throttling or flow adjustment.

Wedge Gate Design: The sealing surfaces form a wedge shape. The wedge angle is typically $5^{\circ}$ but can be adjusted to $2^{\circ}52'$ depending on the medium temperature.

Rigid vs. Elastic Gates:

Rigid Gate: A solid, one-piece construction for standard reliability.

Elastic Gate: Capable of slight deformation to compensate for sealing surface deviations and temperature fluctuations.
