Hanno Valve manufactures high-pressure gate valves engineered for reliable on/off service in critical applications up to Class 2500 (PN420). Designed per API 600 and ASME B16.34, our valves feature a flexible wedge design that ensures bubble-tight sealing even under extreme pressure and temperature fluctuations. The straight-through flow path minimizes pressure drop, making them ideal for high-velocity and high-pressure pipeline systems in oil & gas, power generation, and chemical processing.

working principle

High-pressure gate valves are bi-directional isolation valves. When closing, the wedge-shaped gate is driven downward between the seat rings, creating a mechanical seal. The operating torque required to close the valve is higher than to open it, as the closing force must overcome both the stem-packing friction and the medium pressure acting on the gate. Our valve stems are designed with sufficient diameter (larger than standard requirements) to prevent stem bending under high differential pressure conditions.

When the high-pressure gate valve is opened and the opening height of the gate is 25% to 30% of the nominal diameter, the flow rate has reached its maximum, indicating that the valve has reached the fully open position. So the fully open position of the gate valve should be determined by the stroke of the gate.‌‌
